Overview of Phase 1
In Phase 1, finalize the DNS authentication settings for your domain(s). This involves migrating all existing SPF and DKIM records from the customer's public DNS zone files to the DMARC Manager platform.
This enables the DMARC Manager platform to manage the DNS records going forward without needing further changes to the public DNS.
Key Steps
- Publish only DMARC records for all domains. See Domain Management Section for more details
- Import SPF and DKIM entries published in public DNS to DMARC Manager. See Domain Management Section for more details
- Review DNS for missing sources (DKIM & SPF). Compare the SPF record and DKIM Keys present in the DMARC Manager platform against the public DNS to ensure that all entries have been successfully migrated
- Replace any existing SPF record with the DMARC Manager SPF and add the required NS records to delegate DKIM Management to DMARC Manager.
Phase 1 typically takes 1-5 days but may be longer depending on factors like access to public DNS, number of domains, and internal change approval processes.
