Email Senders Report Overview
The Email Senders interface shows all aggregate DMARC reports (RUA) captured for a given domain. Sending IP addresses are grouped into Senders (for example, all Google sending IPs are grouped underneath the Sender 'Google') with the ability to filter the data in various ways.
The 'Email Senders' interface will default to the 'Compliance' report, but users are able to change this view to any the data associated to the Compliance, Deliverability and Reputation performance of senders.
Report Filters
All reports will display data based on the following filters:
- Domain – select the domain for analysis
- Date Range – select the date range for received reports
- Sender Filters – filter based on the sender categories applied:
- All Senders - by default, you will always land on the "ALL" view which will show all sending sources regardless of categorisation.
- Approved
- Forwarder
- Unapproved
- Suspicious
- None
Senders List
The Sender's list is where the majority of the analysis and interpretation of data will be completed. You will see many unique email-sending sources grouped by name and the detail associated with the sources reported over the selected time period. These values are filtered by default to show the top sending sources over the data period. This view can be expected to go over many pages.
For each of the reports the sender list will change to give a full breakdown on the specific topic of the report.
Email Sender Categories
DMARC Manager makes use of categories to sort reporting data for email senders that are displayed in your reports and dashboards. You can change the category for each of your email senders to sort them accordingly.
Categorizing your senders only labels your data for reporting purposes and will not affect the configuration of the email source in your SPF record.
- Approved - This category is for known email-sending sources that send emails for your organization's domain and will be listed in your domain's SPF record.
- Forwarder - This category is for email-sending sources that forwards your emails automatically. This happens with mailbox rules or distribution lists.
- Unapproved - This category is for email-sending sources that aren't allowed to send emails for your organization's domain.
- Suspicious - This category is for email-sending sources that seem suspicious. They might come from a sender, place, region, or country known for suspicious activities. Use this to mark any unknown or potential malicious senders in your account for further investigation.
- None - This is the default category for any email-sending source that hasn't been categorized before. Also, any new email sources that show up over time will be set as none in your reports.
