Compliance Report

This Compliance Report interface is designed to show your overall DMARC compliance and the authentication results that enabled a Sender to achieve DMARC authentication.

All reports will display data based on the following filters:

  • Domain – select the domain for analysis
  • Date Range – select the date range for received reports
  • Sender Filters – filter based on the sender categories applied:
    • All Senders - by default, you will always land on the "ALL" view which will show all sending sources regardless of categorisation.

    • Forwarder
    • Unapproved
    • Suspicious
    • None

Compliance Breakdown

Compliance

The Compliance card will show you the overall volume of compliant emails sent by the domain.

The doughnut chart will show you the compliant ratio in terms of authentication technologies that were used to achieve the DMARC authentication.

Email Volume

The Email Volume card will show you the overall mail volume sent by the domain over the selected time period broken down into Passing, Failing or Forwards.

The bar graph will show daily mail volume and compliance breakdown on the selected date range.

Senders

The Senders card will show you the overall email-sending sources observed for this domain over the selected time period with a lookup on the number of unique IP addresses across all of these sources.

The bar graph will show a breakdown of total email-sending sources identified per day over the selected date range.

Senders List

This view will show you detail associated with email-sending sources reported over time. This view is where additional analysis and interpretation about the compliance of email will occur.

Users are able to search for a specific source using the Search bar in the top left and view a legend explaining the colours of the compliance bar graphs of each sender.

Column headers are explained below:

  • Sender - This will contain the name of the Sender and the type of email sending typically associated with this sender. Note that this category is controlled at the system level and is not configurable by the user.
  • IP Addresses - The number of IP addresses utilized by the sender as identified in the DMARC data.
  • Compliance - This compliance bar graph will track your overall compliance percentage at an aggregate level i.e. across all sending IPs.
  • Volume - The number of emails reported as sent by this source has sent over the selected period.
  • Passing - The number of emails that have passed DMARC authentication.
  • Failing - The number of emails that have failed DMARC authentication.
  • Forwards - The number of emails identified as forwards. Note that forwarded emails will pass DMARC authentication.
  • Category - The category applied to this specific Sender. You can change the sender category of any sender by clicking on the drop-down menu on the right-hand side.

Sender Details

Expand each sender group to view the associated IP addresses and the hostnames of the servers that sent emails. Click on the IP Address to view the Sender IP Detail Report.

In this view, users are able to discern the source of DMARC compliance (SPF, DKIM or both) per IP. This is reflected in the legend in top right.

Detailed Columns are explained below:

  • Country - this displays Country Code geo-location of the associated IP address. Hovering over the Country Code will display the full name of the associated country.
  • IP - the IP address of the server that sent reported email.
  • Host - the hostname of the server that sent reported email.
  • Volume - the number of emails reported as sent by this specific server. This is also the default filtering, showing the biggest sender to the smallest sender.
  • Passing - the number of emails reported as sent from this specific server that passed DMARC authentication.
  • Passing DKIM & SPF - the number of emails reported as sent from this server that passed both SPF and DKIM authentication.
  • Passing DKIM Only - the number of emails reported as sent from this server that passed DKIM authentication only.
  • Passing SPF Only - the number of emails reported as sent from this server that passed SPF Authentication only.
  • Failing - the number of emails reported as sent from this specific server that failed DMARC authentication.
  • Forwards - the number of emails reported as sent from this server that were identified as forwards.
